Responding to the news that DSD are to make £12M available to fund a boiler replacement scheme over the next three years David Blevings from OFTEC Ireland said, “This is excellent news for consumers looking to upgrade to a new modern appliance. The grant is available to replace boilers over 15 years old and is open to owner occupiers who earn less than £40K pa.

OFTEC would fully endorse the DSD scheme as installing a modern ‘A’ rated condensing oil appliance with full controls will offer a significant increase in boiler efficiency, reduce oil use and save consumers up to 18% per annum on their fuel bill. We would recommend consumers use an OFTEC Registered Technician to carry out their new installation as they are trained, independently assessed and fully insured to provide a practical, cost-effective and compliant installation”, added David.
