Safe, economical boiler, cooker or stove installations

Your local OFTEC Registered Technician will be able to advise what rules apply in your area. In England and Wales, all new installations must now be registered with your local authority as well. OFTEC Registered Technicians can do this for you, and certify that their work meets the necessary Building Regulations.

The alternative is to have Local Authority Building Control inspect the job for you which can work out costly at around £150–£250 per job.

Building Regulations

Oil heating installations must comply with Building Regulations and British Standards. There are also different Building Regulation requirements concerning energy conservation and a directive that requires oil appliances to operate at a high efficiency level.

For example, Part L of the Building Regulations introduced for England and Wales in April 2005 states that all gas boilers installed since April 2007 must be condensing or high efficiency types.
